Life is beautiful but not for South Korea. Why?
Mainstream Korean television shows have begun to feature gay characters and themes since 2006. In 2010, the soap opera "Life is Beautiful" ( 인생은 아름다워) premiered on SBS broadcast TV, becoming the first prime-time drama to explore a gay male couple's relationship; Taesub and Kyungsoo as their unwitting families set them up on dates with women.
This has become an issue for the Koreans in this related article.
Mothers worried about the futures of their children, created a union and released a newspaper ad on September 29th through Chosun Journal.
The union that released the ad stated, “‘Life Is Beautiful’ has glamorized the culture of gays against what is realistically, healthy and proper for the citizens of Korea.”
The ad states that, "If my son becomes gay and dies from AIDs after watching ‘Life Is Beautiful’, SBS must take responsibility!”It somehow utterly ridiculous of them to blamed for the faults on a drama if one day their children were gay. This proves that still the thinking's of Asians are very conservative and couldn't accept their children were gay.
Episode of 31 of the drama, there was a scene where Kyungsoo mother came at late night just to meet Taesub mother to discuss about the relationship. She told Taesub mother that how on earth she could accept such relationship of them getting married and horrendous of the act that bring such disgrace to the family. She even told Taesub how could you leave in this lifestyle of thief at night and in this relationship at day. She would change her son no matter what in getting back straight and told Taesub to stay away from her son. He would be a good son and a great
husband.

In episode 42, Kyungsoo mother were calling his son but couldn't get through, She called Taesub instead and scold him what were they doing until he switched off his cellphone. She even used words like Bastard and called him hideous thing. Here's the video.

Memang ridiculous. AIDS is not gay-only disease. Those aunties really *speechless
It is ridiculous. But what makes them to think that way because of perception that they have been set into their mind set. And this perception were actually the reality that Gay people do play around often.
Can't blame them if they were to think is a disease related to us lol...
